Originally a summer training regime for cross-country skiers. It's based on using specially designed walking poles in a way that harnesses the power of the upper body to propel you forward as you walk. It is now a recognised way to turn a walk into whole-body exercise. It can be enjoyed at many levels, from walking for health to athletic Nordic running.
Learn to Nordic Walk
Either join one of our regular classes (check our website for dates) or call to book a private lesson. In 3 hours you will learn the basics of how to use Nordic Poles as well as how to use them efficiently to get up and down hills.
Nordic Walking Experience
Holiday makers particularly enjoy our 3 hour Nordic Walking Experience where you learn the basics, walk along the archaeological trail to the Monastery at Dysert O’Dea and return to Burkedale House for tea and scones. We can offer hotel pickup.
